Now

 Now

Because it is now

the depth of infinity

is a shallow bed.

So I turn instead

to the past I’ve yet to mine

for all the answers

that have been there

sleeping

all along

like the fugue of the nighttime sea

that houses the spectrum of mystery,

with the urgency of fate.

That will never stop the child

from romping in

the arms of tumbling questions

that tease the shore

with the promise of home.
